EXT. PITCH BLACK - MORNING

???

(echoed)

Another day, another contest. Hopefully I’ll have time to finish my project. I think we’re running out of time…

There’s a small pause.

???

(perhaps Trapezoid thinking to himself?)

If only I knew how to…

The scene gently opens to Octagon and the genie guy (Decagon) in the forest, having a small chat.

INT. FOREST - MORNING

DECAGON

(to Octagon)

Yep, it’s been… thirty-nine years…? … Yeah. Anyways, how are your new arms? Have they turned against you yet?

OCTAGON

Well, They only just grown out of my body since I turned ten two weeks ago, but I’m getting used to it.

DECAGON

Yeah, it DOES take some getting used to. … Say, you’ve never really been to the city, right?

OCTAGON

Don’t plan on it.

DECAGON

Since you haven’t done a challenge in a long time now, why don’t we take a trip to the city? I can revisit my old home and you can see what it’s like! Not a better time than now!

OCTAGON

You’re right, better than talking about life in a random forest. Let’s go!

Octagon stands up and picks up the genie lamp in which Decagon is inside.

Camera quickly moves to the top of the tower, which is in the city Decagon was talking about.

INT. TOP OF MYSTERIOUS TOWER - MORNING

The unknown figure is watching over the Shapelands, but is merely a shadow slightly off frame. Sphere has arms now, showing that he’s just about ten years old. Sphere is holding a clipboard.

UNKNOWN

(to Sphere)

How’s our militia coming along?

SPHERE

Outlook’s looking good. Since we’re ahead of schedule, I expect that we will be finished by tonight.

UNKNOWN

Excellent. … I don’t know what the host of that reality show is capable of. From what I’ve seen, he can teleport himself and anyone he can think of to any place he knows. He also has selective super-hearing.

SPHERE

I personally am confident our militia can defeat any threat this reality show may bring.

UNKNOWN

Amazing. Soon enough we’ll have our entire nation under surveillance, and whatever that mysterious host wants to do… We’ll be prepared. … I’m glad I could have a competent second-in-command like you, son. You’ll be a great heir.

Sphere smiles, which sort of breaks the serious and dark vibe of the mysterious tower.

UNKNOWN

We’ll have to keep a low profile. As soon as he finds out we exist, this whole operation will most likely fail.

SPHERE

Understood. See ya later.

Sphere goes into the elevator and the elevator closes.

OPENING ANIMATION

EXT. HARASSMENT HILLS - MORNING

Trapezoid is walking, carrying something resembling a metal pipe as he’s stopped by Pentagon, looking eager to talk to him about something.

PENTAGON

Hey Trapezoid! Wait up!

Trapezoid turns around.

PENTAGON

Um, I was just thinking, since we’re both eager to win this competition, it would be good to form an alliance!

Trapezoid blinks tentatively.

PENTAGON

… Is that a yes?

Trapezoid looks away for a moment.

TRAPEZOID

(talking in his mind)

What should I do…? This is my chance to do SOME sort of social interaction, but I don’t know what to do! What do I say, do I have to turn ar-

PENTAGON

(fading back into reality)

Trapezoid…? Hello? You there?

Trapezoid is somewhat startled, and he looks to Pentagon and GIVES A SLIGHT NOD.

PENTAGON

(optimistically)

I’m guessing that’s a yes! I know we’re already well into the game, but it’s not too late to form alliances!

Scene abruptly changes.

INT. HOST'S CAVE - MORNING

There’s a bulletin board on the cave wall with a big handwritten title in sloppy handwriting saying “PLAN.”

Host writes something on one of the papers stuck to the bulletin board then puts on a very discontent expression.

HOST

It’s not too late…

After a short pause, Host snaps to teleport to Nonagon.

EXT. HARASSMENT HILLS - MORNING

Nonagon is waiting under a tree, looking confused and slightly impatient.

Host then teleports in front of her.

NONAGON

So what exactly is this “errand” about??

HOST

I don’t know. I just got a letter from the hospital saying that it’s urgent and that I should bring a contestant with me for assistance.

NONAGON

But isn’t the challenge starting soon? It’s been three weeks since you announced the break, right?

HOST

The challenge must start today to stay on schedule… I’ll assign Octagon to substitute as host, and you’ll be exempted from the challenge.

NONAGON

Hey wait, that’s a bit unfair, don’t you think? Octagon getting to control the contest, and me simply being exempted?

HOST

(while vigorously writing on a paper)

Well, in my opinion, you helping me is already enough qualification for immunity. Only way to lose your immunity is, I don’t know, not following directions or something.

NONAGON

And what about Octagon?

HOST

                        (still speedrunning writing)

If he breaks any of the rules, then he’s automatically up for elimination.

NONAGON

Alright, I guess it’s fine then.

HOST

                        (finishing up)

Okay, I think that should be all for Octagon’s instructions. You ready to go?

NONAGON

I’ve been ready this whole morning. Are you sure you’re not late or something…?

HOST

Well… uh… better late than never!

Host throws the piece of paper he was writing on in the air and snaps. The paper, Host, and Nonagon disappear.

INT. FOREST - MORNING

Octagon is traveling with the genie lamp on his head.

The paper that Host wrote suddenly appears in front of him, slapping him directly in the face.

Octagon removes it from his face and looks at it. Decagon also comes out as gay  of the lamp to look at it as well.

DECAGON

The heck is that?

OCTAGON

How am I supposed to know?

DECAGON

Well maybe you’ll find out if you, oh I don’t know, read it?

OCTAGON

Yeah, I’m getting to that, thank you very much.

Octagon looks at the note and the handwriting is absolutely atrocious and there are an abundance of misspellings. (Like Rhombagon!!!)

OCTAGON

This is obviously by the Host.

DECAGON

Well-said. Anyways, read it!

OCTAGON

Okay! … “Hey Octagon! Unfortunately, I need to handle something today but I’ve also planned for the next contest to take place today as well. I need you to take charge of the challenge and determine who’s eliminated. I’ll be back in time for the actual elimination.”

DECAGON

Yeah, the Host is dumb, but not dumb enough to put YOU in charge of the challenge. Hahaha!

OCTAGON

Well he DID. … “Anyways, here are the directions for the challenge.”

Scene transitions from the forest to Octagon reading the challenge in front of all the other present contestants.

EXT. BREAK-IT BRAWL AREA - DAY

OCTAGON

(reading Host’s note)

“Welcome contestants to Break-It Brawl! I’ve been working on this since the last challenge, and I hope it will be of good use.”

The camera points up to the tall white platforms next to them, each one supported by one cubical pillar.

PENTAGON

This seems like a fun challenge!

ANIMATION PLAYS TO AID IN THE EXPLANATION OF THE CHALLENGE

OCTAGON

(reading Host’s note)

“All of you will go onto those platforms and fight to the death until there is one person victorious. The platforms are easily breakable and can be used as projectiles, hence the name BREAK-IT Brawl. … You are not at all confined to your platform. You may destroy your platform, jump off and fight on the ground, or go into a different dimension or something. If you permanently kill someone, however, you will be immediately disqualified and therefore eliminated.” … And that’s when I stop reading.

PENTAGON

Wait… we’re gonna have to go… (gulp) up there…?

RECTANGLE

Calm down Pentagon, at least you don’t have to stay up there the ENTIRE time. Square and I will do a great job taking you down! (PAUSE)

PENTAGON

Well I’m not alone, as I have Trapezoid as my alliance partner!

Rectangle is utterly shocked.

RECTANGLE WHISPERING TO SQUARE

RECTANGLE

(talking to Pentagon again)

Then we’ll take both of you down! (PAUSE x2)

Octagon sees a P.S. on the note.

OCTAGON

(to the contestants)

Wait everyone! I forgot to read something. … “I have infused a bit of my power into this note and it can be used to temporarily take away Hexagon’s weapons. Just say the word… “ … It says to say the word “boop.”

Octagon pauses, seeing if anything happens.

OCTAGON

Uh, did that work, Hexagon?

HEXAGON

Pshh, as if anything’s gonna take away my precious w-

Hexagon tries reaching into her nonexistent storage container behind her. She can’t get anything.

HEXAGON

What. WHERE THE HECK ARE ALL MY WEAPONS GIVE THEM B-

OCTAGON

Jeez, you gotta take a chill pill. I said that it TEMPORARILY removes your weapons.

HEXAGON

(to herself)

Okay then. This is fine. Absolutely fine.

Pentagon sees the opportunity to target Hexagon.

PENTAGON

(to Rectangle and Square)

Hey guys! Since Hexagon’s alone, maybe we could all team up against her!

SQUARE

That would be a good plan, if she isn’t actively running away.

Hexagon is just running away from the area.

RECTANGLE

What?? Uh… Octagon! Hexagon’s running away!

OCTAGON

What?

Octagon turns to the side to see Hexagon running away.

He glances back at the note Host gave him and sees ANOTHER P.S.

OCTAGON

“P.P.S. … Say ‘glorp’-”

A small floating UFO vehicle materializes right next to Octagon. He’s startled by this happening.

OCTAGON

-AHHH! … “to spawn a cool floating vehicle to ride on.”

Without another word, Octagon gets on it and moves the joysticks to control it. He flies over to Hexagon, who is still running away.

OCTAGON

HEXAGON! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!

HEXAGON

You took away my weapons, so I have to go get some more!

OCTAGON

For crying out l- YOU CAN DO THIS ONCE THE CHALLENGE STARTS!

Octagon flies back to the challenge area and looks at the note once again.

OCTAGON

“P.P.P.S … Say ‘plarb’-”

All the contestants teleport to their individual platforms. Coincidentally, Pentagon and Trapezoid are right next to each other, and Rectangle and Square are also right next to each other, with Hexagon in the middle of them.

OCTAGON

If this is only a small portion of the Host's power then what’s his full- … nevermind. Let’s start in three, two, one, go.

Hexagon jumps down like Sonic the freaking Hedgehog and bolts to who-knows-where.

PENTAGON

Alright Trapezoid, let’s get some-

Pentagon looks down to break a piece off the platform, but he pauses due to his fear of heights.

PENTAGON

I forgot we were this high…

A block comes flying past Pentagon and Trapezoid.

PENTAGON

And they’re already starting…

INT. CONFESSIONAL ROOM - DAY

PENTAGON

Really the only fear I have is heights. The way I try to get over this fear is by not looking down… But if I can’t look down, I can’t break pieces off the platform. … I think we need to think of a strategy!

INT. HILLY HOSPITAL - DAY

Host and Nonagon pop into a big room that resembles the front desk of… an abandoned hospital? Nearly all the lights are off and the place just looks like it hasn’t been maintained in a while.

HOST

And we’re here!

NONAGON

… Are you sure we’re in the right place…?

HOST

Trust me, I’ve been here before. We’re in the right place.

NONAGON

Are we too early…? Does the hospital close early or something…?

HOST

Nope, it’s like this all the time… although it wasn’t as run-down as last time. … C’mon, let’s go.

Host and Nonagon travel down the hallway to the right. They walk through the hallway in silence, except for the slight sound of footsteps. But after a while, extra footsteps are heard - and they’re not from Host or Nonagon.

They hear footsteps behind them. The footsteps accelerate rapidly, which causes them to freak out and run.

HOST

(petrified)

We should run.

NONAGON

(even more petrified)

Yeah

They book it to a closet and slam the closet door shut. The footsteps get louder as whatever is following them is approaching the closet.

INT. CONFESSIONAL ROOM - DAY

HEXAGON

Why am I running away from the contest? Simple. If I can’t have my old weapons, I’ll just have to make new ones. Here’s the plan:

As Hexagon is explaining, she’s literally doing it in real time.

HEXAGON

First, I gotta get some materials to craft my new arsenal. Cut down some trees, mine some coal, sulfur…

HEXAGON

That’ll get me the basic materials to make a homemade explosive and smoke bomb. My mother taught me a secret recipe a while back.

HEXAGON

Only reason I’m making these homemade ones is because one, I don’t want to look suspicious buying explosives at a store, and two, because I’m being generous and letting the others fight it out before I make my grand entrance. I’ll simply come too early if I go the easy route.

HEXAGON

… Anyways, I’ll go ahead and buy some armor from the general store,

Hexagon is now talking in real time, out of the confessional.

EXT. IN FRONT OF A STORE - DAY

HEXAGON

(while holding a homemade bomb)

… and all I need to do now is test my homemade bombs.

EXT. BREAK-IT BRAWL AREA - DAY

Rectangle and Square are throwing blocks at the opposing alliance, Pentagon and Trapezoid.

Pentagon moves to Trapezoid’s platform so they can team up more effectively.

PENTAGON

Woah! We gotta fight back, Trapezoid! … Can you lend me a piece of the platform? … I’m too sc-

Trapezoid is already two steps ahead.

PENTAGON

Thanks- (almost gets hit) Oh gosh! Alright. Ready, aim, fire!

Pentagon yeets the block towards Square and misses as Square dodges the block.

SQUARE

Yeesh…

RECTANGLE

Yeah! That’s how you do it, Square!

PENTAGON

It’s not over yet! Give me another!

Trapezoid reliably gives Pentagon another block and Pentagon throws it at Square.

SQUARE

Aagh!

Square is struck and she loses her balance and falls all the way down.

THUD

RECTANGLE

(screaming like a baby)

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!1 SqUaRe!!! Are you okay?!?!??!?!?!?!??!??!??🗣️

SQUARE

(from the ground)

YES I AM, RECTANGLE!

RECTANGLE

(still shaken by the experience)

OKAY!!!!!! …

Rectangle sees that Trapezoid has tossed a block down, heading straight for Square’s head.

RECTANGLE

(stupidly traumatized)

WAIT NO NO NO NO SQUARE LOOK OU-

SQUARE

(from the ground)

Huh?-

Square sees the block, but is too slow to react, so she is hit in the head with such force that she is killed on impact. She falls to the ground, lifeless.

RECTANGLE

(like a crybaby)

NOO!!!!!! SQUARE!!!!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

AUDIBLE SOBBING

RECTANGLE

(while Pentagon and Trapezoid are celebrating)

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🗣️🗣️

PENTAGON

(while Rectangle is sobbing)

HAHA! YES! YOU DID IT TRAPEZOID! High five!

HIGH FIVE NOISE

RECTANGLE

(still sobbing)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-

Scene cuts like a perfectly-cut scream as Rectangle’s sobbing amplifies.

INT. HILLY HOSPITAL - DAY

The footsteps are right next to the closet at this point. Host and Nonagon are visibly shaking.

NONAGON

(frightened)

For the love of EVERYTHING Host, are you SURE you didn’t put us in a mental asylum of some sorts?!

A knock on the door is heard. Then another, and another.

Nonagon grabs a mop for self defense and stands facing the door, ready for what’s going to enter.

The doorknob turns and it opens, quite normally, but Nonagon is too ready and she just smacks whatever or whoever is there.

NONAGON

(while hitting the thing opening the door once)

AAAAAGH!

BIG WHACK

They fall to the floor and when Nonagon finally opens her eyes to see who it was, it was just a nurse of the hospital - Nurse Heart.

NONAGON

(heavy breathing)

… … … Oh shit. Guess I acted too soon, huh…?

Host is too flabbergasted to say anything.

Nurse Heart slowly regains consciousness.

NURSE HEART

(sounding exhausted)

Wow… You hit really hard… (PAUSE!)

NONAGON

(doesn’t know what to do)

… My bad… I thought we were in a mental asylum…?

Nonagon helps Nurse Heart up.

NURSE HEART

I don’t blame you, it does look a bit… dilapidated due to the lack of electricians and… well… medical personnel…

HOST

(interjecting)

Lack of workers? What happened?

NURSE HEART

I’m the only employee in this hospital now. Everyone else resigned because of the disaster I mentioned in my letter. Only reason why this place hasn't shut down yet is because of the government…

HOST

Well what WAS the disaster? Is that why you urgently needed me here?

NURSE HEART

… Follow me. You’ll know when you see it…

Nurse Heart leads the two down the hallway, which is where the scene ends.

EXT. HARASSMENT HILLS - DAY

Hexagon is walking back to the challenge area, with the store she was just at in the distance behind her, and with a completely blank expression on her face. It’s a quiet walk… A little too quiet.

The silence is broken with a call from behind. A voice, male, calls her name.

???

(from behind)

Hexagon!

EXT. FLASHBACK: SIDEWALK - AFTERNOON

Hexagon turns around and the scene completely changes. A different setting, different mood… Like it’s a flashback. Now Hexagon’s on a sidewalk, looking visibly younger than in the present, and the other hexagon is a larger male hexagon.

Young Hexagon runs over to the larger hexagon, and the larger hexagon picks her up and puts her on his head, like this larger hexagon is her father.

FATHER

(optimistically)

You ready to go now?

YOUNG HEXAGON

Yeah!!

They walk away from the camera.

It cuts to when they’re at a shooting range. Hexagon is holding a shooting rifle and both Hexagon and her father are wearing earplugs.

FATHER

Now Hexagon, what do you do when someone wants to hurt you?

YOUNG HEXAGON

I do… THIS!

Hexagon shoots at the target with great accuracy.

FATHER

(optimistically)

Yeah! That’s how you do it!

FIST BUMP

FATHER

(optimistically)

It’s getting late now, let’s head home for dinner, yeah?

YOUNG HEXAGON

Okay!

The camera follows Hexagon as she walks with her father.

EXT. HARASSMENT HILLS - DAY

Suddenly the scene snaps back to reality, as it was just a flashback Hexagon had. The voice that called her was a hallucination. Hexagon continues to walk.

EXT. PITCH BLACK: TRAPEZOID’S MIND - DAY

TRAPEZOID

(echoed)

I’m not sure why Pentagon is searching for an alliance partner this late into the game, and also why specifically asked me. Maybe this can be an opportunity t-

Trapezoid’s thinking is cut off by Pentagon’s sudden exclamation.

PENTAGON

Trapezoid, look out!!

Pentagon blocks a platform piece that was coming straight for Trapezoid.

PENTAGON

You okay, Trapezoid?

Trapezoid NODS. (for the second time ever)

PENTAGON

Okay, help me get some blocks to throw at Rectangle!

Rectangle is… cartoonishly catapulting countless platform pieces at Trapezoid and Pentagon using her arms. She’s also screaming like a maniac while doing it.

RECTANGLE

(while flinging blocks)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Octagon watches from afar on the flying UFO device.

OCTAGON

(confused out of his mind, cut off suddenly)

… what the f-

Trapezoid breaks off a piece and balances it on his head, ready to fire. Rectangle also picks up a piece, and throws it. Trapezoid also throws it. Since they both have a concerningly accurate aim, the two blocks collide mid-air in between the two platforms.

Rectangle is surprised by the outcome, but she stays locked in nonetheless and grabs another block and throws it.

Trapezoid and Pentagon both dodge the block coming their way.

PENTAGON

Gosh, when will she run o-

Pentagon has a eureka moment of some sorts when looking at Rectangle’s platform. It’s severely diminished in size.

PENTAGON

Wait! Trapezoid, I have an idea!

EXT. HARASSMENT HILLS - DAY

Hexagon stands a safe distance away from a bush. Her homemade bombs are laid down in a pile next to her.

She aims it at the bush and throws it. The bomb explodes and ignites the bush. Success!

HEXAGON

Haha! Let’s test out a few more, and then it’ll be time to show ‘em who’s boss.

Hexagon turns to another nearby bush. The camera is angled in the way where the bush is very close to the camera. Hexagon throws a bomb at the bush, and it lights up in flames, lighting up the entire camera, providing a seamless transition to…

EXT. FLASHBACK: WOODEN TARGETS - DAY

A female Hexagon stands next to young Hexagon, presumably her mother.

MOTHER

(to young Hexagon)

Yep! Just like that! Now you try!

Hexagon’s mother gives young Hexagon a throwable explosive to throw at the wooden target.

Hexagon throws it and almost hits a bullseye while also setting the target on fire.

YOUNG HEXAGON

Ooooh!

MOTHER

(to young Hexagon)

Well I’ll be. You’re a natural at this, Hexagon!

YOUNG HEXAGON

Really? Do you mean it?

MOTHER

Of course I mean it! Now just do that if you wanna get away from someone! … (sigh) The world is harsh, but you can protect yourself from the bad parts.

YOUNG HEXAGON

Yes mom, I know!

MOTHER

Ah, you’re so smart, Hexagon. Now let’s see another one of those bomb throws!

YOUNG HEXAGON

Yeah!

Young Hexagon readies, aims, and fires.

The target is close to the camera, making for the same transition back to reality.

EXT. HARASSMENT HILLS - DAY

Hexagon stands there.

HEXAGON

(talking to herself)

Uh, okay, that should be good enough. I’ll just make some more and then I should be good to go.

INT. HILLY HOSPITAL - DAY

Host, Nonagon, and Nurse Heart are walking through the hallways of Hilly Hospital.

NONAGON

(to Nurse Heart)

So why does this hospital look like a freaking mental asylum, with all the lights off and stuff?

NURSE HEART

Well like I said before, the electricians and IT workers didn’t like the fact that the hospital in general was doing such a bad job at, well, being a hospital.

NONAGON

And then they all quit, huh?

NURSE HEART

… Yep. And it wasn’t just the people working behind the scenes, either. The nurses, surgeons, pathologists, electroencephalographers… They all left.

NONAGON

Well, I would probably understand the severity of the disaster if I actually knew what happened.

HOST

Is the fact that there are no employees related to why we’re here, nurse?

NURSE HEART

(to both)

… I know I’ve been gatekeeping, but I think it’s best if I explain the situation when we’re there… And that’s right now.

They stop at a room labeled LIFE SUPPORT.

Nurse Heart opens the door and there are multiple beds with the unconscious, and possibly dead, bodies of the eliminated contestants. However, there isn’t a pulse on the heart monitor for all of them.

HOST

… Aren’t the green monitors with the lines supposed to be beeping…?

NONAGON

(pointing out the flat line on every monitor)

Wait, when you make the eliminated contestants fall unconscious, they get sent here and get put on life support, but it seems like they aren’t… no…

Nonagon walks over to Triangle’s body.

NONAGON

(to Nurse Heart)

It’s not too late, right…? To bring them back using Host's powers…?

NURSE HEART

… That is exactly why I needed your assistance. … When I admitted Rhombus into the life support center, I realized that…

A flashback of what happened back in Shapeoff 3 ensues.

INT. FLASHBACK: HILLY HOSPITAL - DAY

NURSE HEART

There we go, that should be good! Let me just- … Oh… no…

DOCTOR CROSS

Something wrong…?

NURSE HEART

Yes, Doc.

FOOTSTEPS

Doctor Cross checks Rhombus’ life support machine. It’s completely shut down.

DOCTOR CROSS

(in distress)

… Crap. Check the other one!

FOOTSTEPS

Nurse Heart swiftly walks over to Circle’s machine, and it’s also short-circuited.

NURSE HEART

No no no no…! Can we still…?

FOOTSTEPS

Doctor cross checks the control panel in the room, seeing if it can restart.

ZAP

It’s also completely fried.

DOCTOR CROSS

(pissed)

This stupid government can’t even provide basic healthcare… Why do I even bother!?

Doctor Cross storms out of the room and exits the hospital through the main entrance. The table soldiers are there as usual.

DOCTOR CROSS

(to the stationed table soldiers)

You’re free to go, table soldiers.

TABLE SOLDIER

But we’re supposed to be guarding-

DOCTOR CROSS

There’s no point anymore. Just go take a break - that’s an order.

The table soldiers look at each other in confusion for a moment, but then agree to Cross’ command.

BOTH TABLE SOLDIERS

Yes, sir!

They all walk away from the hospital.

HEART’S DISEMBODIED VOICE

(narrating)

And before I knew it…

Two electricians exit the hospital through the main entrance.

ELECTRICIAN

(to the other electrician)

Can’t fix something that doesn’t want to ever work!

The flashback transitions back into reality.

INT. HILLY HOSPITAL - DAY

HEART

… this entire hospital was completely devoid of staff, except for me. … So, today’s my last day here, as I will also be leaving too. I wanted you, Host, to snap the contestants back to life so I could leave knowing there’s no more patients in the hospital.

HOST

Oh… I know that I’m able to get them back, but I’ve never done it before.

NONAGON

Just try it… These limp bodies are unsettling to look at.

HOST

Okay…

This part is heavily dramatized.

Host puts his hands together and slowly moves them apart, a small beam of light connecting his hands. The beam of light then shatters like glass and disappears.

Host looks at Nonagon and Heart.

NONAGON

… Did it work…?

Nonagon turns around and walks to Triangle’s bed again. She takes a long, sad look at Triangle’s still limp body. She sheds a tear, and Nurse Heart walks over and puts an arm over her to comfort her.

Host looks at the two and looks distraught, almost like it’s his fault.

Camera moves back to Nonagon and Nurse Heart.

NONAGON

… I guess it’s too late…

A few sad seconds pass… until…

CIRCLE

(from the other side of the room)

Eugh… Where… am I…?

Heart and Nonagon are in awe.

TRIANGLE

Ugh… what…? I’m…

Nonagon gasps in joy and hugs Triangle right there.

NONAGON

(joyous)

YOU’RE ALIVE!

TRIANGLE

Huh? What? Of course I’m alive!

Heart smiles and turns around to see Oval behind her waking up.

Circle sits up and looks to his left and sees Rhombus getting up.

RHOMBUS

Yeesh… I had the weirdest dream ever…

Nonagon helps Triangle up and turns around to see Oval getting up as well.

OVAL

(asking Triangle and Nonagon)

So… is the competition done yet…?

NONAGON

(to both Triangle and Nonagon)

No, uh, there’s been a problem with keeping both of you here, so Host had to wake you up and get you out of here…

TRIANGLE

Well then what are we waiting for? Let’s get out of this… very creepy hospital room.

NURSE HEART

(announcing to everyone)

Hi everyone! As you may know, you were being kept here as a punishment for getting eliminated in Host’s game show, but due to some… unforeseen circumstances, we need to get you all out of here. If we can all just follow me, it’ll be a nice escort ou-

An explosion deep within the building is heard, probably in the lower floors. Everyone is startled by the explosion.

NURSE HEART

… What was that?

INT. CONFESSIONAL ROOM - DAY

The top of Square’s body is bandaged.

SQUARE

I know it was a gruesome death, yeah, but Rectangle didn’t really need to react like that… But I’m glad I have such a caring sister, I guess.

EXT. BREAK-IT BRAWL AREA - AFTERNOON

Pentagon and Trapezoid seem like they’re locked in.

PENTAGON

You ready Trapezoid?

Trapezoid uses his newfound nodding powers to nod “yes” to Pentagon.

PENTAGON

(screaming at Rectangle)

COME AT ME, RECTANGLE!

A block flies and both Pentagon and Trapezoid dodge it.

PENTAGON

Missed us!

Another block is dodged by Pentagon and Trapezoid!

PENTAGON

Missed us again!

OCTAGON

(announcing from the UFO)

It seems that Pentagon and Trapezoid have developed a strategy-

WHACK

Octagon is knocked unconscious by a flying piece.

Rectangle grabs a piece and throws it at Pentagon and Trapezoid for a third time, and reaches down to break off another piece, but there’s simply no more platform left. Just a large pillar with her on top.

Rectangle looks absolutely flabbergasted and looks up at Pentagon and Trapezoid, looking like O_O;

PENTAGON

NOW!!

Trapezoid is balancing a big piece of the platform on his head, and he launches it in Rectangle’s direction, but he isn’t aiming for Rectangle, he’s aiming for the platform.

The huge piece completely breaks the structural integrity of the pillar in which Rectangle is standing on, causing the pillar to collapse and produce dust, similar to that of the attacks on 9/11, but to a lesser extent.

RECTANGLE

(plummeting)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (like Square’s scream in the OG Shapeoff 1)

PENTAGON

YES! We did it, Trapezoid!

Rectangle isn’t dead yet. She grabs a block from below and throws it up to the Pentagon with a ton of force.

PENTAGON

Y’know, I kind of forgot we were this high up for a moment-

WHACK

Pentagon is struck in the back by a block thrown from Rectangle from below. He blacks out on the platform.

INT. HILLY HOSPITAL - AFTERNOON

The entire hospital shakes due to the explosion coming from within.

CIRCLE

What was that?

NURSE HEART

I’m not sure, but I think we have to evacuate - NOW.

Heart looks at everyone and points them out of the room and into the hallway.

RHOMBUS

(while she’s exiting the room)

This hospital is NOT well-maintained.

NURSE HEART

EVERYONE, TO THE LEFT!

Everyone turns to the left and runs down the hallway. When they get to the end, they all turn right. Triangle’s practically leading the group, and when they get to a staircase, they stop.

TRIANGLE

(to everyone)

I THINK WE’RE SUPPOSED TO GO DOWN!

Triangle is about to take the first step down, when ANOTHER explosion is heard, basically identical to the first one.

The ground shakes once more.

OVAL

What the heck are those explosions??

CIRCLE

(bringing out his inner teacher)

There’s no time to question, we need to get down this staircase, single-file line!

Everyone zooms down the staircase, but when Triangle opens the door at the bottom, they’re met with fire.

The entire floor is practically up in flames.

TRIANGLE

WE CAN’T GO THIS WAY!

Nonagon is flabbergasted and looks around for a potential exit. She spots the window, with a fire extinguisher next to it.

She runs to the fire extinguisher and grabs it.

NONAGON

(right behind the window)

COMING THROUGH!!!

Nonagon uses the fire extinguisher to break the window. It takes three hits to completely shatter it, but once she’s done, she steps aside and lets everyone get out first.

NONAGON

EVERYONE GET OUT!!!

They’re on the third floor of the hospital, so it’s a long jump down, but Triangle, then Rhombus, then Oval, then Circle, Host, and Heart leap out, through the window.

Nonagon then jumps out last, leaping for the grass below.

EXT. BURNING HOSPITAL - AFTERNOON

Even before Nonagon reaches the ground, the third floor violently erupts. At this point, the entire hospital is on fire.

Nonagon gets up slowly, which is understandable, as the entire group just fell three stories. She looks back at the burning hospital. However, something blasts off from the hospital into the air, and it lands near Nonagon, covered in black smoke.

Once the smoke clears, it’s revealed the thing that got blasted was Hexagon, fully decked out in a headband, mask, and some leg armor.

Nonagon takes one look at Hexagon and expects the worst.

NONAGON

(to Hexagon, very angrily)

YOU…

Hexagon is dusting herself off.

HEXAGON

(talking to herself, very nonchalant)

Uh, I think I’m ready for the ch-

NONAGON

(lunging for Hexagon)

AAARGH!!!

Nonagon lunges for Hexagon and tackles her to the ground.

NONAGON

It was YOU, wasn’t it?!

HEXAGON

Uh, yeah, wh-

POW

Nonagon punches Hexagon in the face, even though she has a protective mask on.

NONAGON

(not having it)

You DUMBFUCK! Why the hell would you light a HOSPITAL on fire?!?!

HEXAGON

I WAS JUST TESTING- GET OFF ME!

Hexagon shoves Nonagon aside and quickly gets back on her feet.

HEXAGON

(yelling loudly)

JUST LEAVE ME ALONE! I’m going to go win the challenge the same way I committed arson on this hospital, so if you’ll EXCUSE ME!

Hexagon books it to the Break-It Brawl Area.

Nonagon follows in pursuit.

NONAGON

(chasing Hexagon)

NO YOU WON’T!!!

Nonagon is right behind Hexagon. They chase each other for a long moment.

HEXAGON

(yelling back at Nonagon)

WHY DO YOU EVEN CARE?! THEY’RE ALL JUST GOING TO COME BACK TO LIFE ANYWAYS! MY DESTRUCTION PRACTICALLY MEANS NOTHING!!

NONAGON

(still trailing behind Hexagon)

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?! WE ALL STILL FEEL THE PAIN FROM YOUR STUPID SHENANIGANS!

Hexagon looks utterly shocked at Nonagon’s remark. She closes her eyes for a second and opens them, yelling:

HEXAGON

… AAAAAARGH!!!! GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!

Hexagon quickly throws a homemade bomb on the ground behind her, sending Nonagon back and filling the area behind her with smoke.

Hexagon is just within reach of the challenge area.

EXT. BREAK-IT BRAWL AREA - LATE AFTERNOON

Pentagon gets up from being knocked unconscious. Both Trapezoid and Pentagon look in the direction of which Hexagon is approaching, which puts a frightened expression on Pentagon’s face.

PENTAGON

Trapezoid… Hexagon’s coming back, and I think she’s ready to win.

Trapezoid rips a piece out of their platform and throws it at Hexagon.

PENTAGON

Ooh - great idea!

This is proven to be futile, however, as Hexagon does a Dark Souls-style roll to dodge it.

In retaliation, Hexagon throws a bomb at Trapezoid, launching him off the platform and effectively killing him.

PENTAGON

(scared for his life)

NO!!

Now the focus is on Hexagon.

HEXAGON

(shaky)

TIME TO WIN THIS.

Hexagon, in the middle of all the towers, launches bombs in every direction. Every platform explodes and collapses violently, leaving smoke EVERYWHERE. You can’t see ANYTHING.

Pentagon, at the top of his tower, is waiting for his inevitable demise.

A bomb is launched at his tower, and it loses stability.

PENTAGON

(falling)

NO… NOOOOOOOOOooooooo!!!

Pentagon falls into the fog created by the bombs. He disappears in the rubble.

Hexagon, in the middle of all the chaos, is shaking, looking around like she’s mental.

HEXAGON

(heavily breathing)

IS ANYONE ELSE ALIVE??!

Hexagon’s scream is turned into a flashback, where instead of Hexagon, it’s a gang member screaming.

EXT. FLASHBACK: CITY OUTSKIRTS - SUNSET

GANG MEMBER

(obviously angry)

SHOW YOURSELF, NOW!

Young Hexagon is hiding in a bush, witnessing the gang member calling out to anyone else who’s alive.

It’s not shown, but it’s presumed that Hexagon’s mother is severely injured.

MOTHER

(straining)

HEXAGON! If you’re out there… get away…! It’s not too late…!

Young Hexagon sees and hears her mother’s final words.

GANG MEMBER

THERE YOU ARE…!

CHAINSAW SPINNING

GANG MEMBER

THIS IS A LESSON TO ALL OF YOU…

The flashback abruptly cuts, with present-time Hexagon replacing the gang member.

EXT. BREAK-IT BRAWL AREA - AFTERNOON

Reminder that the entire place is still shrouded in smoke, making it impossible to see anything but Hexagon.

HEXAGON

(holding an assault rifle)

… DON’T MESS WITH ME…! … … …

HEAVY BREATHING

Nonagon emerges from the smoke. Her previous anger has been replaced with a genuine concern.

Hexagon is startled as Nonagon starts talking, instantly jumping and turning around, pointing her assault rifle at Nonagon.

NONAGON

I can see the weight you're carrying, the anger in your eyes.

HEXAGON

(shaken up)

… NO YOU DON'T…! …

NONAGON

Nobody does something like this without something driving them… a pain, perhaps.

Hexagon glares at Nonagon.

NONAGON

Please - help me understand. There can be a better way than destroying the entire Shapelands.

HEXAGON

(still heavily breathing)

… The entire world is against me… I have to combat it somehow…

Long pause.

SILENCE

HEXAGON

My parents - they taught me how to defend… This is me doing just that.

NONAGON

Surely they didn’t want THIS… right…?

Hexagon blankly stares at the floor, looking like she’s in distress.

Hexagon hears her mother’s voice, as a hallucination.

MOTHER’S DISEMBODIED VOICE

The world is harsh, but you can protect yourself from the bad parts.

It seems as if Hexagon has reached a realization.

HEXAGON

No… They wouldn’t.

INT. SHORT FLASHBACK: CITY HOSPITAL - EVENING

The flashback is just a big blur.

DOCTOR

Shapes who have lost a large portion of their body cannot recover from dying… I’m sorry.

EXT. BREAK-IT BRAWL AREA - AFTERNOON

HEXAGON

But it’s…

NONAGON

It’s not too late.

Hexagon looks up at Nonagon.

NONAGON

Sure, you’ve caused mass destruction to multiple areas in the Shapelands, but you can redeem yourself.

HEXAGON

… How?

NONAGON

You can start right now.

Hexagon removes her mask.

Hexagon hugs Nonagon. They hug each other for a long moment.

The moment is broken with Hexagon pulling out a pistol, putting it to her head, and releasing the trigger.

BANG

Hexagon falls to the floor, lifeless.

The smoke starts to clear, revealing all the rubble around them.

Nonagon looks at Hexagon for a good second, and then looks up and calls for anyone who’s alive.

NONAGON

I-Is anyone alive?!

A voice is heard from under a pile of rubble.

PENTAGON

Yeah, I’m in here.

Nonagon walks over to where the voice is coming from and lifts the debris to find Pentagon trapped underneath. Pentagon crawls out and gets up.

PENTAGON

Thank you.

NONAGON

Yeah… you uh…

PENTAGON

I know, I won. I kind of heard everything.

Host suddenly teleports in between them.

POP

HOST

And it looks like we have a winner!

NONAGON

Way to ruin the moment, much?

HOST

You all can wake up now!

Everyone wakes up from dying. Hexagon wakes up close by, and Trapezoid, Rectangle, and Square dig themselves out of the rubble.

Camera focuses on Trapezoid, looking at Pentagon in the middle of the area.

TRAPEZOID

(in his head)

… The alliance worked.

Trapezoid thinks for a moment, but then puts on a determined expression.

Camera goes to the Hilly Hospital gang (Circle, Rhombus, Oval, Triangle) arriving. Nonagon and Pentagon see them and they run over.

PENTAGON

Oh my gosh! Hi Oval! Hi Triangle! What brings YOU here?

TRIANGLE

The hospital couldn’t keep us anymore, so I think we’ll just be spectating instead.

OVAL

(to Pentagon and Nonagon)

Yup, we’re going to be cheering you both on.

TRIANGLE

(to Nonagon)

So who’s up for elimination?

NONAGON

I guess it’s everyone, minus me, Octagon, and Pentagon.

Host appears behind Nonagon, startling her.

HOST

I’m not sure if Octagon’s going to be safe. I don’t see him anywhere.

Octagon comes back from who-knows-where on the UFO.

OCTAGON

This UFO is crazy powerf- woah.

Octagon sees the mess that is Break-It Brawl.

Host teleports onto the UFO behind Octagon, startling him like he did Nonagon.

HOST

I don’t know where you went, but you’re up for elimination.

OCTAGON

What?! WHY??

HOST

If you check my note, you can see that I said specifically not to leave the challenge area.

OCTAGON

WHAT?! I don’t remember it saying that! … Lemme check…

Octagon goes to the very end of the letter.

OCTAGON

“P.P.P.P.S. You are not allowed to leave the challenge ar-” YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME.

Nonagon is explaining what happened to Oval and Triangle.

NONAGON

So then she explained to me WHY, and then proceeded to forfeit the challenge right there.

OVAL

So do you know who you’re going to vote for?

NONAGON

(sigh) I think I do…

When Nonagon says that, the camera goes to Hexagon, who is looking utterly destroyed on the floor.

Nonagon walks over to Hexagon, helping her up. Hexagon is absolutely silent.

NONAGON

(to Hexagon)

I’m uh… sorry I tackled you down to the floor.

HEXAGON

(quietly)

… If anything… I should be the one to apologize.

NONAGON

You don’t have to. I already know.

EXT. FOREST - SUNDOWN

Trapezoid is taking pieces of metal and welding them to something that’s not shown. He takes the welding mask off to better see what he’s done, and then looks up to see that the sun is almost going to set.

The camera moves up to the sky, flashes forward to when it’s nighttime, and goes back down, but now in the voting area.

EXT. VOTING AREA - NIGHTTIME

HOST

You all know the deal by now. Go to the voting booth, say a few words if you want to, and cast your vote.

INT. VOTING BOOTH - NIGHTTIME

OCTAGON

I’ve been told what happened, and I just think it’s kind of funny that Hexagon made the hugest scene ever but still lost, so I’m voting her.

PENTAGON

Based on what I heard beneath the rubble, I think that it's best that Hexagon goes, for her own health.

NONAGON

I’m not voting for Hexagon because I don’t think she deserves the prize - I’m mostly voting for her so she can take some time off to think and, I guess, forgive herself.

HEXAGON

… … …

HEXAGON

I don’t want to have control over the Shapelands, not anymore. … I just need some time off to think about the damage I caused and… well, I guess move on from there…

EXT. VOTING AREA - NIGHTTIME

Hexagon leaves the voting booth and takes a seat next to Nonagon.

HOST

And that should be all the votes, so I’ll just go ahead and read them out.

Host reaches into the voting booth with his elongated arm and gets the votes.

HOST

First vote… Hexagon.

HOST

Second vote… Trapezoid.

HOST

Third vote… Hexagon.

HOST

Fourth vote… Hexagon. Three votes Hexagon, one vote Trapezoid. The only way Hexagon isn’t going is if Trapezoid gets the rest of the votes.

HOST

Fifth vote… Trapezoid.

Pentagon anxiously looks at Trapezoid, who has that poker face we all know and love.

HOST

Sixth vote… Hexagon.

HOST

Seventh vote… Hexagon.

HOST

The fifth contestant NOT getting control over the Shapelands, is of course, Hexagon.

Hexagon stands up to prepare for her goodbye speech.

HEXAGON

… I just wanted to tell you all that I’m sorry. I’ll admit it now - it was kind of amusing getting to blow up so many places, but I just didn’t think about what lives would be affected and how the Shapelands would be affected as a whole. I don’t know if any of you are going to forgive me for committing all those felonies, but nonetheless, I am sorry.

NONAGON

Hey… the fact that you blew up a hospital is still messed up, but I’m glad you apologized.

TRIANGLE

I guess I also apologize to everyone else, knowing that I took part in the destruction of the school, but who even likes school anyways?

Circle glares at Triangle menacingly.

HEXAGON

So… where do I go now, Host?

Someone familiar comes into the picture.

SPHERE

Oh, I don’t think you’re going anywhere.

Everyone sees that Sphere is now here.

HOST

Oh wait, aren’t you the reality show inspector?

SPHERE

… I’m afraid your reality show must be cancelled, but that’s not all. The damages your cast caused to the Shapelands is simply too detrimental to leave unpunished, so you all-

Trapezoid comes out of nowhere and TASES Sphere.

PENTAGON

T-Trapezoid?! What are you doing?!

Trapezoid gestures to the crew, almost like he wants them to follow him.

PENTAGON

I think he wants us to follow him!

SPHERE

(while on the ground)

OH NO YOU DON’T. … NOW!!

Multiple militia with armor and guns appear, surrounding the voting area. They march closer, which frightens the entire group.

PENTAGON

Uh… I think we need to go, now!

Trapezoid leads the group out of the voting area and into the forest. While the group is running from the militia, more appear in the forest, like it’s a big ambush.

TRIANGLE

Wh- THEY’RE APPEARING FROM EVERYWHERE!!

RECTANGLE

(with Square running next to her)

What is happening?!

They arrive at an opening, where they stand before a big portal-like structure. Trapezoid presses a button, causing it to activate and glow bright red.

PENTAGON

Do you want us to go in?!

Trapezoid nods.

Sphere and the militia catch up with the group.

SPHERE

Seize them! If not all, then the Hexagon!

Trapezoid jumps into the portal, followed by the rest of the group, with Nonagon, Triangle, Hexagon being last.

Before Nonagon, Triangle, and Hexagon can enter, Hexagon is grabbed by two militia and dragged backward.

NONAGON

NO…! HEXAGON!!

HEXAGON

(while she’s being dragged)

J-JUST GO!

NONAGON

What?! I can’t just leave you!

TRIANGLE

NONAGON, IT’S NOW OR NEVER!!

HEXAGON

(already pretty far from the portal)

GO!!!

Nonagon pauses for a brief moment, but then turns around and jumps straight into the portal, pushing Triangle in with her.

RHOMBAGON - You were right yesterday about Hexagon killing herself. You were ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. The part of Hexagon killing herself was already written by the time you said that.
